Speeding Through History – The Whitewall Tire

In Chicago of 1914, Vogue Tyres created the first whitewall tire when they melded a carbon black tread with a zinc white sidewall. These whitewalls were originally on both sidewalls – visible due to the open fenders that cars used, allowing pedestrians to see both sides of a tire when a car drove by.
